Ranjha steps out in search and is scattered across the fields of Jhang.
Qais walks with yearning and is left with madness.
Sassi’s devotion ignites and the desert takes her body.
Sohni believes, enters the water, and is carried away.

No one is punished.
No one is spared.

What remains is not union, but experience. To have loved so completely, even briefly, is to be changed by it. Some encounters leave no permanence, yet they leave behind depth, awareness, and a quiet knowing that only lived emotion can offer.

The illustrations pause at the moment just before disappearance, when the heart is still choosing and the cost is already decided. The deep red ground holds intensity and longing that do not resolve. Subtle Mughal architectural details move through the composition like memory, grounding these emotions in a shared cultural past.

This scarf features the folklore of Heer Ranjha, Laila Majnu, Sassi Punnu, and Sohni Mahiwal, not as stories to be retold, but as feelings to be recognized.
